Budding Star stayer and 3yo Kinnersley arrived at Ensign Lodge the Tassie stable of Barry Campbell who so capably managed my Brisbane yard for 3 years. Barry reported that the gelding has settled into his temporary new surroundings especially well and in his first time in Tassie handled the reverse way of going with ease. I know Kinnersley's Tassie connection Phillip Evans and all the visiting owners are hoping for a G3 Derby win with their boy when he races on Saturday with Nash Rawiller in the saddle. Back at headquarters and Al Muhanad bred and owned by Emirates Park is coming up a treat. This chunky, handsome colt by Secret Savings from Desert Trick will contest the maiden 1200m at Hawkesbury next Thursday. Dee Bee Nine worked in excellent fashion for Mark and looks spot on for his race debut on Saturday at Kembla Grange. Gold Water is coming up a treat. This Group winning mare owned and bred by Gooree will have an easy trial next Tuesday at Rosehill. Golden Channel is a big leggy boy by Stravinsky that will step out next Saturday, the 6th Feb at Newcastle over 1400m, a distance which should suit to a tee. Montana Flyer enjoyed her final gallop with Kathy in the saddle. She was extremely happy with the way this G2 winner of the Roman Consul felt. Unfortunately she didn't kick a goal at her last couple of preparations and was sent to visit a husband but decided she was not quite ready for motherhood. The Towell family of GT Park sent her back to her beloved home of Tempest Morn Lodge at Doncaster Avenue and she resumes in the open 1100m race at Randwick on Saturday. Royal Esteem did not do much in her 2nd trial at Rosehill but I've changed her work to short and sharp sprints so hopefully that has done the trick. The daughter of Don Eduardo will be seen at Newcastle next Saturday.
