When Manhattan Rain sprinted quickly working into the home straight he was left a little flat footed but kept battling strongly to finish 2nd. "He is still soft," commented Nash. I will continue to work on his fitness levels for the next couple of weeks and target the Group 2 Apollo Stks over 1400m at Rosehill on the 20th of February.

He was ridden positively throughout and showed plenty of tenacity as he fought strongly when challenged in the straight to hold on and defeat G1 winners Rock Kingdom and More Joyous. "Great trial. I made sure he was focused and concentrating. He did the job well:, said Mark. He has pulled up well and will resume in the Group 3 Southern Cross over 1200m at Randwick on the 13th of February. Heat 2 - 850m (OPEN) - RANDWICK - MORE JOYOUS - Nash Rawiller - Time: 49.8 - Margins: Sh Nk x Nk - Position: 3rd More Joyous jumped quickly and strode forward to settle in 2nd position racing outside the leader and stablemate Dreamscape. She was asked for an effort working into the final 200m and in a driving finish she finished 3rd only beaten a short neck by a neck. "She raced a little fresh early, hence levelled out in her run to the line," said Nash Rawiller. She has pulled up well and remains on track for the Group 2 Light Fingers Stks over 1200m at Randwick on the 13th of February. He was asked for his effort into the home straight and kept finding the line as only Rock Kindgom can do, battling strongly to finish 2nd in a three way finish. He was asked for his effort working into the home straight and stuck on solidly when challenged to finish 3rd. "Happy with his trial. He just got tired late," said Nash. He has pulled up well and he will head to Melbourne for the Oakleigh Plate on the 20th of February. All going well, he may then run in the Group 1 Newmarket on the 6th of March. Heat 3 - 850m (OPEN) - RANDWICK - VIKING LEGEND - Blake Shinn - Time: 50.0 seconds - Margins: 1.7 L x Lg Hd - Position: unplaced Viking Legend jumped better today settling just better than midfield. He was left a little flat footed when they sprinted in the home straight but he stuck to his guns and battled away to finish 6th. "He showed more speed today than last trial and he did a good job over the sprint journey of 850m," said Blake. The colt has pulled up well and will resume in the Group 2 Royal Sovereign Stks over 1200m at Randwick on Saturday the 13th of February. Heat 5 - 1050m (3YO OPEN) - RANDWICK - DANCE IDOL - Nash Rawiller - Time: 63.5 seconds - Margins:.7 L x Sh Hf Hd - Position: 2nd Dance Idol jumped quickly to settle in 3rd place racing in behind the leader. She was eased out to make her run in the straight and driving through the middle she gobbled up the ground late to finish 2nd impressing her rider Nash Rawiller who commented, "Great. Really happy with her and I loved the way she kept finding the line." She has pulled up well and will retrial in the next fortnight. Heat 5 - 1050m (3YO OPEN) - RANDWICK - PICTURES OF YOU - Blake Shinn - Time: 63.5 seconds - Margins: .7 L x Sh Hf Hd - Position: 4th Pictures Of You was ridden along by Blake Shinn showing early speed to lead and when challenged in the straight battled away to finish 4th. "She is just very one-paced," said Blake. "1400m would probably be best for her". The filly has pulled up well and will debut in the Maiden Hcp over 1400m at Kembla Grange on the 13th of February. Heat 6 - 1050m (3YO OPEN) - RANDWICK - DEVILS ARCADE - Ben Looker - Time: 63.0 seconds - Margins: 2.3 L x Hf Nk - Position: 2nd Devils Arcade jumped quickly and strode forward to race outside the leader. She improved to share the lead and when asked for her effort on straightening dashed well clear to score by two and a quarter lengths. "Very happy with her and she was my best of the morning," said Ben Looker. A great effort - the filly has pulled up well and will be aimed at another trial in the next fortnight. Heat 7 - 1050m (OPEN) - RANDWICK - OBJECT OF VIRTUE - Ben Looker - Time: 63.8 - Margins: .5 L x Hf Nk - Position: unplaced Object Of virtue jumped okay but was hard ridden from the word go. "He gave me no feel at all," said Ben Looker after the gelding finishing a long last.
Heat 8 - 1050m (OPEN) - RANDWICK - AUTUMN EMBER - Ben Looker - Time: 63.0 seconds - Margins: 6.5 L x 1.7 L - Position: 2nd Autumn Ember jumped quickly to settle in front. She stayed one off the fence rounding the home turn which enabled the talented Recoup De Fortune to speed through on her inside before she left Autumn Ember standing in her wake dashing well clear in the straight. The mare battled strongly and wasn't over extended by Ben Looker as she held on for 2nd place. "The other horse was just a bit nippier than us," said Ben. She will certainly improve fitness-wise for the effort. She has pulled up well and will trial again in the coming fortnight. Heat 9 - 740m (OPEN) - RANDWICK - GEFFEN - Ben Looker - Time: 43.4 seconds - Margins: Lg Nk x 11 L - Position: 1st Geffen mustered speed along the inside to stride through and share the lead early before leading into the home straight. He was held together all the way up the running before apprentice Ben Looker asked him for an effort inside the last 150m. "I held him up and I really liked the way he found the line," said Ben. He has pulled up well and will trial again in the coming fortnight Heat 11 - 740m (2YO C&G) - RANDWICK - END OF TIME - Blake Shinn - Time: 43.3 seconds - Margins: Lg Nk x 2 L - Position: 1st End Of Time mustered speed to stride through and race in 2nd position before improving to share the lead. He was hard ridden into the straight and kept finding the line under riding from Blake Shinn to score by a long neck. "Trialled well and he is ready to go to the races," said Blake. He has pulled up well. I will have a good look at him when I return from the New Zealand sales and be in touch. A nice possibility might be the 2YO Maiden Hcp over 1300m at Warwick Farm on the 17th of February. Heat 12 - 740m (2YO F) - RANDWICK - SUN GLOW - Mark Newnham - Time: 43.1 seconds - Margins: Sh Hf Hd x Nk - Position: 3rd Sun Glow jumped quickly to race on the speed throughout. It was only inside the last 100m she commenced to tire but she still held on to finish 2nd only beaten a short half head on the line. "Very happy with her trial. She did everything right and will improve from the outing," commented Mark Newnham. She has pulled up well and will trial again in the coming fortnight Heat 12 - 740m (2YO F) - RANDWICK - GANDA - Nash Rawiller - Time: 43.1 seconds - Margins: Sh Hf Hd x Nk - Position: unplaced Ganda was unsure of what to do when the gates were released and settled well back in the field. Unfortunately she was never able to get into the trial there after and finished last. "She had no idea and I would definitely put the blinkers on her next trial and she would be suited by a longer distance," said Nash Rawiller. "I would not be too disappointed as she has much more ability than what she showed today." She has pulled up well and will trial again in the coming fortnight Heat 13 - 740m (2YO F) - RANDWICK - MISS CELEBRATE - Nash Rawiller - Time: 43.3 seconds - Margins: 2.7 L x 1.7 L - Position: 1st Miss Celebrate jumped well and ridden along by Nash Rawiller was able to muster speed and stride through to race on the pace. She travelled lovely throughout for Nash and when asked for her effort inside the 200m she dashed well clear to score by almost 3 lengths. "Very happy with her," said Nash. "I'm sure she'll improve again when she steps over more distance." She has pulled up well and will trial again in the coming fortnight Heat 14 - 740m (2YO F) - RANDWICK - ACTRICE - Blake Shinn - Time: 43.3 seconds - Margins: 1.7 L x 3.5 L - Position: 1st Actrice jumped quickly and strode through to lead. She travelled easily and comfortably throughout and the win was never in danger as she coasted to the line to win by 1.3 lengths. "She trialled great", said Blake. She has pulled up well and I will have a good look at her and decide whether to retrial her or send her straight to the races. Heat 15 - 740m (3YO C&G) - RANDWICK - GIBRALTARIAN - Nash Rawiller - Time: 43.8 seconds - Margins: 1 L x Hf Hd - Position: 2nd Gibraltarian jumped well and mustering speed strode through to race on the speed throughout. He was ridden along by Nash Rawiller approaching the final 200m and he battled strongly to finish 2nd beaten a length on the line. "Good effort for his first ever trial," said Nash. "He tried really hard and that experience will bring him along." He has pulled up well and will trial again in the next fortnight. Heat 15 - 740m (3YO C&G) - RANDWICK - BELECONI - Mark Newnham - Time: 43.8 seconds - Margins: 1 L x Hf Hd - Position: unplaced Beleconi jumped ok and settled in 4th and 5th position racing on the fence. He kept battling away in the straight and without losing or making ground finished 5th. "He was very one-paced and will be better suited when he gets over longer," said Mark Newnham. "He also had a good blow so will be improved by the outing." He has pulled up well and will trial again in the next fortnight. Heat 16 - 740m (3YO C&G) - RANDWICK - BASSOON - Blake Shinn - Time: 44.5 seconds - Margins: Lg Hd x Lg Nk - Position: 2nd Bassoon jumped quickly and strode through to lead. He was all at sea with legs going everywhere and he was unsure what to do. Blake Shinn kept him going in front and he produced a great effort to finish 2nd beaten only a long head on the line. "We'll put the blinkers on him and I'm sure they'll help him balance and focus. Good effort for his first trial," said Blake. He has pulled up well and will trial again in the next fortnight. Heat 17 - 740m (3YO F) - RANDWICK - CAP DANCER - Mark Newnham - Time: 43.1 seconds - Margins: Lg Hd x 4 L - Position: unplaced Cap Dancer missed the start and was slow to muster any type of speed settling well back at the tail of the field. She took an age to work into her stride and over the 740m sprint journey she was never in contention. "She just couldn't get into any rhythm today," said Mark Newnham. She has pulled up well and will trial again in the next fortnight. Heat 18 - 740m (3YO F) - RANDWICK - CONSTANT SPARKLE - Blake Shinn - Time: 42.6 seconds - Margins: .5 L x 2.7 L - Position: unplaced Constant Sparkle missed the start by about three lengths and settled at the tail of the field. Over the 740m she was never in contention and finished well back in 5th position. "She had no idea what to do and was very one-paced," said Blake. She has pulled up well and will trial again in the next fortnight. Heat 18 - 740m (3YO F) - RANDWICK - FLYING SUCCESS - Nash Rawiller - Time: 42.6 seconds - Margins: .5 L x 2.7 L - Position: 1st Flying Success jumped quickly and strode through to lead. She was never let off the bridle as she coasted to the line over the closing stages to score by half a length. "She trialled beautifully," said Nash Rawiller. "She gave me a good feel and I was really happy with her". She has pulled up well and will trial again in the next fortnight. Heat 19 - 740m (3YO F) - RANDWICK - DANCING FLAME - Mark Newnham - Time: 43.4 seconds - Margins: Sh Nk x 4 L - Position: 2nd Dancing Flame jumped quickly and strode through to race in 2nd position. Working into the home straight she was able to come away from the pack with the eventual winner Tracko and was only beaten a short head with the third horse four lengths away. "She raced a little keen early but it was a nice effort," commented Mark Newnham. She has pulled up well and will trial again in the next fortnight. Heat 19 - 740m (3YO F) - RANDWICK - SARAH CAN FLY - Ben Looker - Time: 43.4 seconds - Margins: Sh Nk x 4 L - Position: unplaced Sarah Can Fly was slow to jump and settled well back in the trial. Over the 740m sprint journey she was unable to make ground finishing 4th of the five runners. "She was never able to get into the trial once she missed the start," said Ben Looker. "She might improve with the addition of blinkers as she was a bit lost out there today." She has pulled up well and will trial again in the next fortnight. |
