Heat 8 - 900m (2YO C&G) - ROSEHILL - MUTAMAYEZ - Nash Rawiller - Time: 54.62 seconds - Margins: .7 L x 3 .3 L - Position: 4th Mutamayez was a little slow to jump coming out of the barrier in 2nd last position. From his wide draw he was sent forward by Nash Rawiller improving his position to midfield travelling wide and off the track. In the straight he was given a couple of reminders by Nash to put his mind on the job and he knuckled down gamely to chase his opposition hard to the line just beaten for third to finish 4th. "Very tough effort as we had to overcome a slow start and a wide run," said Nash.. Heat 11 - 900m (2YO C&G) - ROSEHILL - CHARING CROSS - Blake Shinn - Time:55.07 seconds - Margins: 3 L x 2 L - Position: 1st Charing Cross was most impressive today when tracking the speed before dashing home in the straight to score an eye-catching three length win. Reeling off the fastest final sectional of the morning in 12.09s the colt is on target to make his debut run in the coming weeks. "He displayed a very nice turn of foot," said Blake. Heat 16 - 900m (2YO F) - ROSEHILL - POLSKA - Nash Rawiller - Time: 54.33 seconds - Margins: 1 .3 L x 1 .3 L - Position: 1st Polska jumped well but was ridden just off the pace today settling in 3rd and 4th position travelling wide on the track. She was sent forward by Nash Rawiller at the top of the straight and steadily making ground she found another gear inside the final 200m to forge well clear and score another impressive win. "Great trial and she showed her versatility today when coming off the speed with a strong finish," said Nash. Heat 14 - 900m (2YO F) - ROSEHILL - BLUE LOTUS - Nash Rawiller - Time: 54.14 seconds - Margins: 1 L x Hd- Position: 2nd Blue Lotus jumped quickly and strode forward to race on the pace travelling wide on the track. She continued to improve into the home straight and continued to work strongly to the post to finish 2nd only beaten a length. "Great debut trial," said Nash. "I loved the way she kept finding the line." He was brought to the outside on straightening and once balanced found the line with great authority to storm over the top of his opposition and score by a head. "He went great and is ready to go." Heat 1 - 1030m (OPEN) - ROSEHILL - DEVILS ARCADE - Ben Looker - Time: 63.7 seconds - Margins: Hd x Hd - Position: 2nd Devils Arcade jumped quickly and strode forward to settle on the pace racing three wide without cover throughout. It was an extremely tough performance from the filly as she battled strongly all the way down the straight to finish a close up 2nd. "Sensational. She is ready to go," said Mark. He was still in that position into the straight but just got tired over the last 100m. "Good solid first trial and I'm happy with the way he's returned," commented Mark Newnham. Heat 2 - 1030m (OPEN) - ROSEHILL - REFUSE ME - Nash Rawiller - Time: 62.79 seconds - Margins: Sh Hd x Sh Hd - Position: 3rd Refuse Me jumped quickly and strode through on the inside to lead. She travelled comfortably throughout and despite being challenged all the way down the straight she continued to hold her ground to finish third, only beaten a short head by a short head. "She trialled great. She's a staying type filly who will appreciate racing over at least 1400m first up," said Nash. Heat 2 - 1030m (OPEN) - ROSEHILL - SHMOOS - Blake Shinn - Time: 62.79 seconds - Margins: Sh Hd x Sh Hd - Position: 4th Shmoos jumped quickly and strode through to travel outside the leader and stablemate Refuse Me. She travelled sweetly into the home straight and continued to hold her ground finishing 4th not beaten far. "She trialled well in a strong heat," said Blake Shinn. Heat 3 - 1030m (OPEN) - ROSEHILL - IDOLISED - Mark Newnham - Time: 61.6 seconds - Margins: 4 .5 L x .5 L - Position: unplaced Idolised was very well behaved today and jockey Mark Newnham was impressed with the way he stayed calm in and behind the barriers. He settled in about 5th position tracking a very fast tempo and although he was left flat footed at the top of the straight he worked home well over the last 100m. The trial was run at an extremely quick tempo and it was no disgrace to see her tire late to finish 3rd to the G1 winner Black Piranha in the quickest time of the 1030m heats - 61.6s. "We went very hard early, she was entitled to get tired. Very happy with the way she has come back and that trial will bring her along," said Blake. Heat 3 - 1030m (OPEN) - ROSEHILL - OLDER THAN TIME - Ben Looker - Time: 61.6 seconds - Margins: 4.5 L x .5 L - Position: unplaced Older Than Time jumped quickly and strode through to share the lead early before taking the sit in a trial that was run at an exceptionally quick tempo. Tracking the speed till the home straight the filly had no answer to the finishing burst of her well credentialed opposition including the G1 winner Black Piranha and she weakened out quickly in the straight to finish well back. "I know it was a hard heat but I was disappointed with her today," said Ben Looker.

He was asked to improve on straightening and ridden along by Nash battled away to finish 4th. "I was a little disappointed in him today as I thought he would have found the line better," said Nash.. Heat 4 - 1030m (OPEN) - ROSEHILL - EXCHANCELLOR - Nash Rawiller - Time: 62.56 seconds - Margins: Nk x 2.3 L - Position: unplaced Exchancellor was ridden off the pace today settling in 4th position early before going to back to 5th and 6th position prior to the home turn. He was asked to improve into the straight but failed to run on finishing worse than midfield. "He didn't appreciate being ridden that way and I think he's best suited when he's let roll along on the speed," said Nash Rawiller. Heat 4 - 1030m (OPEN) - ROSEHILL - KATSURA - Mark Newnham - Time: 62.56 seconds - Margins: Nk x 2.3 L - Position: unplaced Showing her customary early speed Katsura jumped quickly and strode to the lead. She led well into the home straight but felt the pinch inside the final 200m and weakened late to finish 5th. "She showed great speed but her tough opposition got the better of her late. Take her to an 1100m fillies and mares at the provincials and she will be most competitive, "said Mark Newnham. Heat 4 - 1030m (OPEN) - ROSEHILL - STAGE PERFORMER - Blake Shinn - Time: 62.56 seconds - Margins: Nk x 2.3 L - Position: unplaced Stage Performer jumped well and strode forward to race in 2nd position racing outside the leader. She was still there as they turned for home and kept battling strongly in the straight to finish 4th with the likes of Bandar and Strat's Flyer proving too strong for the maiden performer. "She trialled well for a maiden but was quite one-paced. 1400m first up would be most suitable," said Blake. Heat 6 - 900m (OPEN) - ROSEHILL - CATANOOGA - Ben Looker - Time: 54.81 seconds - Margins: Hf Nk x Hf Nk - Position: unplaced Catanooga jumped well and strode forward to race in 2nd position travelling outside the leader. She was still there as they rounded the home turn but was quickly placed under pressure as they straightened for home eventually weakening in the straight to finish at the tail of the field. "Very disappointing," said Ben Looker. Heat 8 - 900m (2YO C&G) - ROSEHILL - DE BURGH - Blake Shinn - Time: 54.62 seconds - Margins: .7 L x 3.3 L - Position: 2nd De Burgh raced like a true professional today as he jumped quickly and strode forward to race on the pace sharing the lead. He quickened into the home turn but was run down in the final stages to finish 2nd with the third horse three lengths away. "Good trial, very speedy and is ready to go to the races," said Blake Shinn.
Heat 9 - 900m (2YO C&G) - ROSEHILL - GUNBARREL - Nash Rawiller - Time: 53.77 seconds - Margins: Hf Hd x 1.5 L - Position: 3rd Gunbarrel jumped well and settled in 3rd position tracking a genuine tempo. He was asked to improve at the top of the straight and quickened impressively to dash to the lead. Inside the final 200m the challengers appeared. Tiring late he was relegated to 3rd position beaten a ? head by one and a half lengths. "He was very switched on early and moved into the trial strongly but his run just seemed to come to an end. The 2nd horse Hinchinbrook is very talented and the time was very quick also," said Nash. Heat 9 - 900m (2YO C&G) - ROSEHILL -THE REVELLER - Blake Shinn - Time: 53.77 seconds - Margins: Hf Hd x 1.5 L - Position: 4th The Reveller did everything right today at his debut trial. Behaving in the barriers and jumping well he settled in 5th position racing three wide with cover before easing wide at the top of the straight to make his run. Battling away in the straight he finished 4th in one of the fastest run trials of the day. "He did everything right but just feels like he has done enough this preparation. He is very talented so I'm sure a good break will do him the world of good," said Blake. Heat 11 - 900m (2YO C&G) - ROSEHILL - AL ASEEL - Nash Rawiller - Time:55.07 seconds - Margins: 3 L x 2 L - Position: 2nd When the barriers were released Al Aseel jumped brilliantly to lead by a length. He was kept off the fence by Nash and as they moved into the home straight he was given more rein to quickly stride to the front. Well clear it was only in the final 200m that the speedy stablemate Charing Cross collared the colt and he battled on well to finish a clear 2nd. "Lovely colt and I'm sure we'll see the best of him when he gets over more ground," commented Nash.. Heat 12 - 900m (2YO F) - ROSEHILL - CHINKARA DANCER - Nash Rawiller - Time: 54.06 seconds - Margins: 1.5 L x 2.7 L - Position: 1st Chinkara Dancer jumped quickly and strode to the front. She travelled comfortably throughout and showed good acceleration in the straight to score an impressive 1.5 length win. "She is a natural jump and run type", said Nash. Heat 12 - 900m (2YO F) - ROSEHILL - SNIP ?N' PASTE - Blake Shinn - Time: 54.06 seconds - Margins: 1.5 L x 2.7 L - Position: 2nd Snip ?N' Paste jumped quickly and strode forward to sit in 2nd position racing outside the leader. When the leader quickened in the straight she was left a little flat footed but under riding by Blake Shinn held her ground and position to finish 2nd with the third horse almost three lengths away. "She trialled well but was a little one-paced in the straight," said Blake. Heat 13 - 900m (2YO F) - ROSEHILL - FIT AND READY - Nash Rawiller - Time: 54.94 seconds - Margins: 1 L x 1 L - Position: 2nd Fit and Ready took a few strides to muster speed and settled midfield travelling wide on the track. She was asked to improve at the top of the straight and in a gallant and courageous effort continued to find the line all the way down the running to finish 2nd. "Tough effort," said Nash. "She just takes time to muster early speed but she certainly knows how to find the line." Heat 13 - 900m (2YO F) - ROSEHILL - TOP OF THE DECK - Blake Shinn - Time: 54.94 seconds - Margins: 1 L x 1 L - Position: 3rd Top of the Deck jumped quickly and showing good speed strode forward to lead. She travelled there throughout and it was only over the final stages that she tired late to finish 3rd beaten two lengths by the winner. "She has an extravagant sort of action and carries her head pretty high," said Blake "But I'm sure she'll benefit from the experience."
Heat 14 - 900m (2YO F) - ROSEHILL - BOTO VERMELHO - Blake Shinn - Time: 54.14 seconds - Margins: 1 L x Hd - Position: 3rd Boto Vermelho jumped well and settled in 4th position tracking the speed. She was brought to the outside by Blake Shinn on straightening and found the line strongly to finish 3rd, only just beaten for second. "She's a lovely filly and that was a great trial," said Blake. Heat 15 - 900m (2YO F) - ROSEHILL - CRYSTAL EMPIRE - Blake Shinn - Time: 54.80 seconds - Margins: Ns x 2 L - Position: 1st Crystal Empire jumped quickly today and ridden along by Blake Shinn settled in front. She appeared to be a bit lost in the lead but when another horse went with her in the home straight the two raced well clear of their opposition. In a driving finish the filly was able to score by a nose with the third horse two lengths away. "Great effort but I think you'll find she'll race much better with the blinkers on," said Blake. "She was on and off the bit throughout and I really had to make her do it." Heat 16 - 900m (2YO F) - ROSEHILL - MEDITATION - Blake Shinn - Time: 54.33 seconds - Margins: 1.3 L x 1.3 L - Position: unplaced Meditation jumped okay and settled in 3rd position tracking the leaders. She was ridden along in the straight but just weakened late to finish 5th. "She has an average action but did everything right and will be improved by the trial," said Blake. Heat 18 - 900m (3YO C&G) - ROSEHILL - DEVILS ROCK - Blake Shinn - Time: 54.02 seconds - Margins: Sh Hf Hd x 1 L - Position: unplaced Devils Rock jumped well and settled in 3rd position tracking the speed. When the leader shifted off the fence a run presented itself and gathering momentum he was pushed through the gap and battled away to finish 5th or 6th. "Very one-paced and is definitely looking for further ground," said Blake. Heat 19 - 900m (3YO C&G) - ROSEHILL - DAINTREE ROAD - Nash Rawiller - Time: 53.96 seconds - Margins: .7 L x Hd - Position: unplaced Daintree Road jumped well and settled on the speed running 2nd and 3rd throughout. He was ridden along by Nash in the closing stages and in a blanket finish was placed fourth. "He trialled well and I'm sure he'll improve from the outing," said Nash. |
